SFU Friesen Conference 2019: “Understanding and Fostering Resilience in Older Adults”

Come see us at the 28th Annual John K. Friesen Conference, which will be held on June 10th and 11th at Simon Fraser University, Vancouver Campus.

This year’s theme is Understanding and Fostering Resilience in Older Adults.

It is well known that individuals who are aging often face various health, social and economic adversities. The ability to rebound from adversity has been defined as resilience. Understanding why some people are able to overcome aging-related adversity better than others, and the processes by which this occurs, represent key areas of knowledge development in this emerging field.  This year’s John K. Friesen conference advances innovative research, practice and policy addressing the topic of resilience and aging.

The conference will showcase resilience thinking applied to several thematic areas in an effort to promote health and wellness during a period of rapid population aging in BC and Canada.
